All members of the Topeka Downtown Optimist Club are being asked to make a notation on their daily planning pads, calendars, pocket memo reminders – that our guest speaker for this Friday, September 14^th is the First Lady of Kansas:

                       MARY BROWNBACK!

She will be visiting with us about the Kansas reading program –“Read Kansas Read.”  As stated by the Governor – “…reading opens up the whole world to us.”  This summer students all across Kansas were encouraged to read and to keep count of the number of books they read. Mrs. Brownback will report on this year’s program success and results.  If possible, please join us this Friday for lunch.
