KANSAS FIRST NEWS…weatherman Tom Hagen,
gave us a most delightful insight to an “early morning weatherman’s life.” He
immediately had our attention and sympathy when he mentioned he got up every
morning at 1:01 AM in order to start his day at 2:00 A.M. He them immediately
“lost our sympathy” when he mentioned he graduated from the University of
Missouri. Putting that one small error aside Tom told us what all goes into
getting ready to “go on the air” with the weather.
Thanks Tom!
NO MEETING…next week July 6th.
Top of the Tower will be closed. Next meeting is FRIDAY the 13th.
Fred Poldin from PT’s coffee will be our speaker.
YE EDITOR’S ERROR – I mentioned at the
meeting that a great book to read about weathermen would be “Isaac’s Storm” by
author Erik Larson. I stated the book was about one of the deadliest Hurricane’s
to hit Corpus Christi, Texas – WRONG. It destroyed Galveston, 1900.
Stan Dennis split the ticket pot – The badge number called
was that of Darren Davis who was not in attendance. The over heated SMORE candy
bar went home with Rod, his name being called from the attendance list.
