“ New Radio System – Staffing -
Legacy”
May 18, 2012
Vol. 1
No. 28
THERE’S
A NEW SHERIFF…in town and it is Sheriff Herman Jones. Sheriff Jones visited with
us about the proposed new radio communication system for his department.
Price tag is right at $12 million dollars. One of
his main concerns has to do with privacy. Will the new system allow for home
scanners to be able to listen in to what is happening and learn who is doing
what to whom.
He also has to make some decision rather quickly as it
relates to staffing his department. Currently there are a number of openings but
they come with salaries which will eat into his budget.
Thanks for the updates.
Love to see the Sheriff return REAL soon as a full
club member.
CAPT. BILL CROCAN…will receive our clubs Respect for Law
award at this weeks meeting.
RON BROWN…Carl Smith was club president 1976-77. AND Carl
will be having a celebration of his 95th
birthday on Saturday May 26th
at Brewster Place East Community Room from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Please stop by and
tell Carl Happy Birthday!
